Sekeping Serendah Retreat is a very relaxing and peaceful private retreat surrounded by natural environment. It is an ideal place to be away from the city during a short weekend. The retreat is an hour drive from north Kuala Lumpur and the journey was rather fascinating. There are orang asli villages along the way and the single lane road is quite bumpy once you have exit from the motor way. The accommodation can be quite interesting with open air concept shower place. It has a nice average size nature pool and it can get quite crowded during the weekends.
I would recommend to stay at the glass shed that comes with a nice barbecue area. The glass shed is also more secure in the sense that security lock is provided at the entrance to the glass shed. The hygiene was just average and some parts of the floor was not properly cleaned. However, the place was slightly eerie during the night and there were a few aggressive dogs hanging around at the bottom of our barbecue area during our stay. The only down side of the retreat is there is no phone line in the forest with only one caretaker. Nevertheless, it was a great experience with friends and we had lots of fun at night during the barbecue session followed by ghost stories telling session. Check this place out if you are looking for something different during the weekend. (Year 2008)
