Brighton Pier, United Kingdom

Brighton located just at the south of London is a great place to visit for a short getaway. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel from London to Brighton by car and it can be a leisure day trip from London. Brighton Pier is one of the highlights with free admission but there is a charge for amusements and rides. The rides are suitable for kids of all ages but there are very limited rides for both kids and adults. Tokens for the rides can be purchased from the ticket booth but they are overpriced in my opinion.

Interestingly, the beach is not a sandy beach but a shingle beach with small pieces of pebbles. The beach itself was clean and the sea was equally beautiful but can be very crowded at weekends. It would definitely a better option to explore Brighton during the weekdays in order to avoid the crowd. Lastly, I would highly recommend the fish and chips by the beach that came with good size portions that loaded with delicious chips. (Year 2008)
