The Monument, London

The Monument also known as Monument to the Great Fire of London was built to commemorate the Great Fire of London. The completion of the Monument is also to celebrate the rebuilding of London city and tourist are allowed to climb the staircase of 311 steps in order to reach the viewing platform and to there is no elevator service. The windy staircase is rather narrow but definitely worth the effort because it gives the panoramic view of the city. Interestingly, all visitors would receive certificates of achievement for reaching the top of the Monument. I would highly recommend this attraction to anyone. (Year 2009)
