Stunning architecture, huge, unbelievably beautiful and impressive! These are the perfect words to describe the royal residence at Windsor – Windsor Castle which was built in the 11th century. This is one of the very interesting castle with magnificent interiors and a lot to explore. The surrounding of the castle are beautifully kept and you could easily spent a few good hours strolling around the castle. The visit was worth every penny and it is recommended to pre-book the entrance tickets to avoid long queues. If you are travelling from London, the journey to Windsor by coach is approximately an hour and the journey will be shorter if travelling by train.
The highlight of the castle is the display of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House which was built in the early 1920s. The dollhouse is huge and completed with tiniest detail in every corner. I love miniatures and to be able to witness this finest dollhouse is one of the greatest and unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, no photography is allowed on the dollhouse. I would highly recommend to visit this castle and make a day trip to Windsor if you are planning a visit to UK. (Year 2010)
