York, United Kingdom

York the beautiful city in Northeast England is a great place with a lot to explore. The journey by train from London to York is approximately 2 hours and York is very easy to get around on foot. I would highly recommend taking a walk from the train station to Lendal Bridge before arriving at the city centre which is within walking distance. You will then pass by the scenic River Ouse that flows through the city and able to see the York city walls along the way. The highlights of the city includes National Railway Museum, York Minster the Gothic cathedral, Jorvik Viking Centre which is a fully reconstructed viking village, York Castle Museum, York Castle and many more. I would recommend to spend at least a night or two at York in order to see more of the city. (Year 2010)
